Join Grow the Richmond and Streets for People as we welcome SFMTA to tell us more about the Golden Gate Park Access & Safety Program to discuss proposed changes to JFK and the surrounding streets in and around Golden Gate Park: https://www.sfmta.com/projects/golden-gate-park-access-and-safety-program
At the beginning of the pandemic, city officials moved to make JFK Drive between Kezar Drive and Transverse Drive as well as Conservatory Drive, creating a car-free space for the enjoyment of people all day and every day. They eventually added more car-free routes, creating an almost entirely car-free route to the beach.
However those changes were just for the duration of the COVID-19 emergency. Now Rec and Park and SFMTA are considered long-term, permanent changes for the streets in Golden Gate Park as well as streets nearby such as Fulton, including an exciting proposal to maintain a car-free route from the start of JFK Drive all the way out to Ocean Beach.
Come learn about the various proposals and provide your input to help bring more permanent space for people to enjoy outside of their cars. Register here to attend.
